Gang of Six, Savaii

August 23, 2007

Today begins the new life on the island of Savaii for the "Gang of Six". We consider ourselves to be the Delta Force of the Peace Corps, dropped into remote areas with grand expections for our mission and mostly our wits to help us survive.

Wow! I'm so happy to see pictures of the house. Love the thatched roof! And lucky you for having indoor plumbing. Cooking must be a challenge at this point, since looks like there's no stove yet.

Good luck getting acclimated and settled. I can't imagine being in your shoes with all the expectations of the villagers. You band of six have your work cut out for you, that's for sure. Sending lots of love your way.

Congrats on your new home in Savaii. Ethan lived in Sapapalii and I lived in Taga and we may be back to visit before your service is over. If you ever need anything, please let us know. We miss Samoa so much! Good luck on your service.

I am so proud of you both. You have come a long way, learned a lot and are experiencing a wonderful experience and commitment. Cute house. Love the photos and everything you describe is amazing. I don't think I could live without chocolate! ;-)
